India BEATS China in the United Nations ECOSOC body election - Significance of UN Panel on Women

 India and Afghanistan beat China in the elections to the UNs Commission on Status of Women (UNCSW).

India secured 38 of the 54 ballots,Afghanistan secured 39 and China secured 27.

UNCSW is dedicated to promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.
